‘Ballet Bunnies’ is aimed at pre-school children aged 2-4yrs. The class teaches students an introduction into the ballet technique, along with rhythm, musicality and creativity. The children will learn how to stand in the ballet positions using the correct arm and foot placements, as well as understanding the correct vocabulary and ballet movement. It introduces ballet and dance in a fun and relaxed environment using props, such as ribbons, scarfs, and beanbags.

The class is for children to independently explore movement by themselves without parent participation. The aim is to encourage the children into the world of dance and not scare them away. All children are different if your child needs you in the room for re assurance then please feel free to sit in the studio and when the time is right for both of you, I suggest parents sit in the corridor or changing rooms and observe the class thought the studio monitor. Sometimes the children respond better and get more out of the sessions when parent are out of site.

‘Ballet Bunnies’ have an award scheme called “Stage Awards” and “Bunny Awards”, these can be collected and gained when the student has achieved a skill or understanding. Bunny Awards can be presented anytime during a term, either to a group of children or to an individual. Please understand that these are progression awards and your child will only receive an award once they have completed the set task, skill or understand the movement.  The awards are used to motivate and reward the children during their learning, and it is also a nice way for parents to see their child’s progression through their dance learning. Bunny Awards also get carried on through the Pre-Primary and Primary graded classes as your child can track their achievements as their ballet journey progresses.

“Stage Awards” are mini examinations that allows us to move your child up to the next level of learning. Stage 1 is aimed at 3yrs and Stage 2 I aimed at children aged 4, who are ready to move up to the first graded syllabus examination – Pre-Primary. The Stage Awards are examined on a set day, where your child will be awarded on their dance ability and knowledge. They will then be presented a rosette and certificate for passing the Stage Award.

On completion of Ballet Bunnies, the students’ progress to syllabus graded classes from the age of 4 based on ability or when they start school.
